The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Mobile Build Release Engineerwho lives and breathes mobile CI/CD, app performance, and build optimization. This is a critical role focused on ensuring our mobile development pipeline—from developer experience to App Store delivery—is fast, reliable, and scalable.

You’ll take ownership of the entire mobile infrastructure layer supporting iOS and Android development across KMP, React Native, and Native codebases. You'll work closely with mobile engineers, platform engineers, and automation systems to drive speed, quality, and stability in how we build, test, and ship mobile products.

We want someone deeply experienced who can hit the ground running, own mobile DevOps end-to-end, and raise the bar across our tooling, standards, and performance.

Responsibilities:

• Build Systems: Own, optimize, and scale iOS and Android build systems.

• CI/CD Architecture: Architect and maintain CI/CD pipelines that support multiple frameworks (eg. Kotlin Multiplatform, React Native, Swift/Obj-C, Java/Kotlin)

• Observability: Own and improve observability and monitoring of the mobile CI/CD pipeline and build infrastructure.

• Release Engineering: Define and maintain release processes including semantic versioning, branch strategy, tagging, change logs, and app store delivery (TestFlight, Play Store)

• Developer Experience: Build and maintain dev environments and tooling to make local development setup fast, reliable, and standardized

• Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve bottlenecks in build times, test runtimes, caching strategies, application size optimizations, tracking and dependency management

• Infrastructure as Code: Manage infrastructure automation for build systems using Terraform and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash)

• Tooling Ownership: Evaluate and introduce tools to improve mobile delivery velocity (e.g., build cache, binary artifact storage, test coverage)

• Mobile Architecture Support: Partner with engineers to define best practices for project structure, feature modularization, and dependency management

• Documentation & Training: Produce high-quality documentation and provide guidance to engineers on internal libraries, CI/CD best practices and mobile delivery workflows

Qualifications:

• 5+ years in DevOps or Build Engineering roles, with at least 3 years focused on mobile apps

• Deep experience with mobile build systems: Xcode build, Gradle, etc.

• Proficiency in configuring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for mobile using GitHub Actions (or similar tools like CircleCI, Jenkins)

• Hands-on experience with bare-metal macOS build & virtualized Ubuntu runners on AWS, including lifecycle management and optimization

• Proven expertise with Terraform and infrastructure automation

• Knowledge of KMP, React Native, and native mobile architectures and how they impact build and release strategies

• Experience designing and implementing branching models, release tagging, and app delivery processes

• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, etc.) to automate workflows and improve system performance

• Ability to work autonomously, debug complex problems, and provide architectural guidance on mobile CI/CD strategies

• Strong communication skills to collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, product teams, and platform owners
