Job Description

We are seeking a skilled MLOps Engineer with expertise in MLOps or DevOps, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), SQL databases, and Kubernetes to join our team.  Responsibilities include automation, documentation, and collaboration with Data Science and Data & Analytics teams for seamless integration of ML workflows.  Join us to drive innovation and operational excellence as we navigate the cutting edge.

RESPONSIBLIITIES:

What you will be doing

DevOps and CI/CD:

• Collaborate with Data Science team to integrate ML workflows into new our ML orchestration platform, Union.ai (or the open-source project Flyte)
• Integrate our ML and AI models and products in our consumer-facing IoT products and internal business analytics to scale
• Ensure smooth integration of ML models into production environments
• Establish observability tools and practices to monitor deployment process, and system health and performance

Software Development

• Utilize Git for version control and collaboration on codebase
• Lead the development and migration our existing infrastructure and codebase to the new ML orchestration platform
• Maintain our Python code for our ML and data pipelines
• Document procedures, configurations, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing and repeatability of processes

GCP and Kubernetes:

• Monitor and maintain our Kubernetes infrastructure for optimal performance and reliability
• Manage database maintenance tasks and ensure data integrity within Snowflake
• Implement node pool autoscaling to dynamically adjust resources based on workload demands
• Administer cloud storage solutions and ensure data availability and durability

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Technical Expertise
  • 4+ years of experience in MLOps or DevOps
  • Highly proficient in writing clean, robust Python code using coding best practices
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in cloud computing, eg. GCP
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in Kubernetes and containers with track record in deployment of jobs at scale to production
  • Good expertise in SQL database, preferably in PostgreSQL database and Snowflake data warehouse
  • Intermediate to advance knowledge of data pipeline or ML orchestration. Big plus: any experience or willingness to learn Union.ai (or Flyte)
  • Track record of implementing monitoring and observability solution, eg. Datadog
• Leadership Skills
  • Excellent communication skills for discussing complex technical with engineers and the ability of translating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven ability to decompose complex technical challenges and produce a pragmatic solution
  • The ability to adapt and balance delivery, attention to detail with constraints and pragmatism
• Nice to have
  • Great sense of humor
