The Senior Manager Software Engineering is responsible for leading a team of software engineers, coordinating development projects, and ensuring the successful delivery of software products. They play a critical role in team management, project planning, and technical leadership, and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation within the team. 

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO: 

  • Lead a diverse set of technology projects to build resilient, low latency microservices for personal finance use cases, retirement income, including digital banking, payments, investment tracking, and credit systems, all hosted in scalable cloud infrastructure 

  • Lead and manage a team of software engineers, quality engineers, and business analysists -- providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure their professional growth and productivity 

  • Own critical code paths and facilitate collaborative reviews to maintain engineering rigor 

  • Be the guiding force for stakeholders in design and architecture discussions, helping your team make key technology choices, and staying associated with the use case through its development lifecycle 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including product managers and business leaders, to define project goals, scope, and priorities break down complex technological challenges into workable items 

  • Develop project plans, run an agile development team, allocate resources, and monitor progress to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of software projects 

  • Instrument services with clear metrics, monitor key indicators, and iterate on engineering practices to improve efficiency, quality, and reliability 

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to code quality, continuous learning, and mentoring, while actively engaging with emerging technologies and tech communities 

 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING: 

  • 8+ years of experience in software development 

  • 4+ years of people management experience 

  • At least two years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service 

  • Extensive experience applying Agile methodologies 

  • Proven leadership and team management skills 

  • Experience building modern tech stack—Java, containerization platforms, SQL/NoSQL databases, and AWS tools—to build and manage scalable distributed systems 

  • Excellent communication and project management abilities 

 

WHAT WILL SET YOU APART: 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or related business field
