The Senior Manager / Scrum Master Software Engineering will lead multiple software development teams, drive departmental strategy, and ensure software initiatives align with organizational goals. This role is responsible for setting priorities, supporting delivery outcomes, mentoring leaders, and fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence across the software engineering function.

What you will do:

  • Manage a team of technical staff, setting clear objectives and priorities that align with departmental and organizational goals
  • Define and execute departmental strategies, including resource allocation, budgeting, and technology adoption
  • Collaborate with other department heads and executives to ensure software initiatives align with overall company strategy
  • Foster a culture of innovation and technical excellence within the software engineering department
  • Mentor and coach software managers and leaders within the organization, providing guidance and growth opportunities
  • Oversee complex software projects, monitor progress, and address challenges to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement within the department
  • Participate in hiring and onboarding, and set and evaluate performance goals to help identify, attract, and retain top talent
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies
  • Manage a ticket queue and priorities to investigate and resolve production support issues
  • Review and report AWS costs and vulnerabilities identified within the application development of the group
  • Support audit reviews related to application development teams

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of professional experience and/or training required
  • 8+ years of experience in software development
  • Proven record of accomplishment of managing and leading software teams
  • Strong strategic planning and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities

What will set you apart:

  • Scrum Master Certification preferred
  • PM-ACP Certification preferred
  • Strong leadership experience with a proactive and positive approach preferred
  • Outstanding soft skills, including mentoring, conflict resolution, facilitation, leading by example, work ethic, and emotional intelligence preferred
