Microsoft’s Cloud business is experiencing explosive growth, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth. Our mission is to deliver the world’s computer with an industry-leading supply chain. CSCP is responsible for strategic sourcing, customer demand forecasting, capacity planning and management, supply chain planning and execution, capacity provisioning, and decommissioning and dispositioning of datacenter assets worldwide.

The Circular Cloud Supply Chain Team within the CS4 organization in CSCP is responsible for the end to end reverse logistics of the Cloud data center infrastructure assets. This includes the design, build, and operations of our Circular Centers. Additionally, we are responsible for channel creation and disposition of the end of life assets to optimize reuse, repurpose and value recovery. We are central to meeting the goals of the Waste pillar of Microsoft’s Sustainability initiatives. We are planning for significant growth of this program globally and expect to double our footprint in the next two years. We will need to staff with the right skills and leadership in the right locations to support this growth.

The Senior Manager, Business Operations, Circular Cloud will play a key role in this transformation, helping to design and integrate processes for our reverse supply chain from decommissioning to disposition to maximize reuse and recycling of our computing platforms, and enabling a circular economy. They will work closely with corporate Microsoft sustainability initiatives and stakeholder teams to meet our waste and circular economy goals. They will drive key business processes like planning to ensure that the reverse supply chain has the capacity to support volume needs and new capabilities. This is a people management position, and they will be managing a team of program managers and SMEs to deliver to their goals.

Responsibilities

• Drive Circular Cloud business operations to support our reuse and recycle goals.
• Manage the incoming planning and forecasting activities that feed into the circular centers to optimize reuse and recycle.
• Work closely with engineering teams to ensure that the right capabilities and functionality is deployed to support Circular Center operations.
• Own change management and training documentation to ensure that changes are deployed successfully.
• Manage the development and execution of circular economy channels and programs in the cloud reverse supply chain to maximize reuse and recycling channels. Leads cross-functional engagements, shares practices, drives alignment in carbon and circular economy decisions and benchmarking (as it applies to the circular center program), and consults with industry professionals to inform strategy with a global view.
• Determine and evolve our circular economy calculation and tracking methodologies in alignment with industry standards.
• Owns the KPIs and indicators for the circular center program, identify gaps and risks to success, and implement strategies to course correct as needed. Report up to management.
