Dow has an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Maintenance Planner in Bristol, PA!

As a Maintenance Planner, you will create job packages from the work order scope which contains all of the information regarding required labor material and services to ensure safe, effective and efficient execution of the work. This role also requires broadened technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities. You may act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.

Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Uses feedback from the person doing the work to optimize the work plans.
  • Reviews work orders for technical completeness and returns work orders to gatekeeper, if not complete.
  • Carries out field checks, when needed.
  • Prepares job package and inputs plan into SAP (CMMS) indicating the required resources, materials, and services.
  • Identifies task activities necessary to execute job plan, and identifies materials/tools/equipment required to perform tasks.
  • Identifies/solicits safety information and requirements necessary to safely perform tasks.
  • Supports Maintenance Procedure Use Policy by ensuring all job packages include a procedure or the task is on the Procedure Exemption list before the job package is released. Checks that all Maintenance Procedures include a hazard assessment.
  • Serves as a technical resource during procedure creation and review, as needed. Creates, develops, changes, updates job procedures and checklists, and initiates procedure Management of Change (MOC), as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • A minimum of 3 years of related industry experience
  • A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the U.S. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including any type of permanent residency support.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • An Associate's Degree in a maintenance or related field
  • 5+ years of related industry experience
  • SAP Systems experience

Physical Demands:

Willing and able to meet physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:

  • Wear safety equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes
  • Wear and use respirators
  • Perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting
  • Work in tight or closed-in spaces
  • Climb stairs/ladders and work high off the ground
  • Stand or walk for extended periods of time
  • Occasional lifting of material weighing approximately 55 lbs

Your Skills:

  • Communication - the individual must be an effective communicator, both written and verbal
  • Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) - the individual should be familiar with navigating through CMMS
  • Computer skills - the individual should be familiar working with MS Word, SAP, etc.
  • Maintenance execution - the individual should have an understanding of tasks and procedures for general industry maintenance
  • Organizing, planning, and prioritizing work - the individual should have the ability to determine their own day-to-day schedule without set guidance
  • Predictive maintenance - the individual should have the ability to determine the condition of in-service equipment to estimate when maintenance should be performed
  • Preventative maintenance - the individual should proactively approaching maintenance issues to lessen the likelihood of failure
  • Proactive problem solving - this individual needs to be a self-starter with work ethic, that completes tasks and doesn’t wait for someone else to complete it.
