Broadridge is hiring! We currently have an opening for a Lead Mainframe Software Engineer to support our product development team and help lead the way in modernizing and transforming our mainframe applications.  You will be supporting a wide variety of print-focused legacy applications in support of primarily brokerage services client communication media (Print, digital, e-deliveries) , with a keen eye and desire to migrate them to more modern technologies and architectures. In this position, you will be responsible for the design of the software as well as leading all aspects of the development, configuration, customization, unit testing, and maintenance services. You will lead a team of hardworking developers and help recruit additional members when needed. You’ll collaborate with others across IT, Data, Product Management as well as external leaders in a variety of technology areas including data science and deep learning. You must possess the ability to work in a very fast-paced environment!

Are you passionate about a position that plays a vital role in the delivery of quality client solutions? To be successful, you'll demonstrate sophisticated knowledge of Mainframe Development crossing over into distributed system technologies, including Linux, digital, and cloud technologies. .

We are made up of high performing teams that meet in person to learn and collaborate as needed. This role is considered hybrid, which means you’ll be assigned to a Broadridge office and required to be in the office 2x a week.

Responsibilities:

  • Take a lead role in charting the course of the mainframe platform modernization to distributed and/or cloud based solutions.

  • In this role you will, investigate system and programming problems, propose solutions, and recommend design improvements for increased efficiency. You'll handle sophisticated programming assignments and develop / maintain mainframe applications using primarily COBOL Batch technologies.

  • You'll analyze product requirements and translate them into detailed system functionality by working with internal organizations and/or clients.

  • Handling workload to completion in timeframes provided to meet client timelines.

  • Work within our service Agile SDLC and contribute toward it’s continued refinement and optimization.

  • You'll develop architectural components in support of business requirements and standards for application development.

  • You will develop test data and performs the unit testing ensuring that the programs perform according to program specifications.

  • You'll lead other team members including our offshore associates in India, in the coding, testing and debugging of application programs.

  • Most important – with your strong mainframe architecture background, you will help us lead the transformation of mainframe architecture into more modern platforms!

Qualifications:

  • 8+ or more years of experience writing and testing code using Cobol batch technologies

  • Exposure to and understanding of AWS cloud (lambda, glue, step functions, AWS Batch, ECS/EKS), Python, Java, and SQL.

  • Experience in platform modernization and transformation.

  • Tivoli Workload Scheduler/OPC Scheduling experience is also a plus, but not mandatory.

  • Validated interpersonal skills as well as analytical capabilities – strong written and verbal communication is a must.

  • Experience in working with AFP and PDF files,  as well as ACIF is a plus, in addition to having any Exstream software experience will be a plus.

  • Financial Brokerage experience will also be considered a strong asset, particularly in the brokerage confirms and statements space.

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent IT experience.
