We’re actively seeking a talented Senior Instructional Designer to join our Talent Development team in Newport Beach, CA. This role is hybrid.
The Senior Instructional Designer designs and develops learning solutions to enhance employee performance and growth, leveraging advanced learning theories and technology. This role collaborates with stakeholders to meet business needs and drive continuous improvement in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
How you’ll help move us forward:
- Needs Assessment: Conduct comprehensive needs assessments to identify skills gaps and training requirements within the organization. Collaborate with stakeholders to define project specifications and learning objectives.
- Design and Development: Design and develop innovative, multi-modal learning solutions focused on skills taxonomies, micro and macro learning, career pathways, and e-learning. Create dynamic, interactive resources like multimedia presentations, digital job aids, and real-time performance tools to align with organizational goals and enhance employee performance.
- Collaboration: Work effectively within a self-organizing, cross-functional talent development team in close partnership with stakeholders in a matrixed HR operating model. Ensure learning solutions meet business needs and enhance development initiatives.
- Implementation: Develop and implement comprehensive programs, curricula, and immersive learning experiences for the enterprise, including individual contributor, manager, and leadership development programs. Ensure these initiatives align with organizational goals and are effectively integrated into the overall talent development strategy.
- Evaluation: Measure the effectiveness of learning experiences through feedback, performance metrics, and data analytics. Continuously improve initiatives to ensure they meet organizational goals and enhance employee performance and development.
Skills and Competencies:
- Knowledge of Learning Theories: Deep understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design models, and talent development strategies. Ability to apply these theories to conduct needs assessments and design effective learning solutions.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in instructional design software (e.g., Articulate 360, Camtasia, Vyond, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite) and learning management systems (LMS). Skilled in creating dynamic, interactive resources like multimedia presentations, digital job aids, and real-time performance tools.
- Communication: Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills. Ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively and collaborate closely with enterprise partners and key stakeholders.
- Project Management: Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities. Capable of developing and implementing comprehensive programs and learning experiences.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to conduct comprehensive needs assessments, evaluate learning outcomes through feedback and data analytics, and make data-driven decisions to continuously improve learning initiatives.
The experience you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Human Resources, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in instructional design, with a focus on corporate and enterprise learning and talent development.
- Requires demonstrated knowledge of instructional design theory and adult learning principles
- Experience working in a corporate environment and familiarity with organizational development practices..
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with administration of Learning Management and Learning Experience Systems helpful; preferably Cornerstone.
- Able to work effectively with diverse groups of people and various position levels.
