JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Information Technology (IT) Integrated Systems will have overall responsibility for operations and management of all Radio, web application related systems and services at Balad airbase in support of the F-16 Training Project at Balad Air Base. This position will follow established procedures to provide ongoing preventive maintenance and failure resolution of systems and support equipment, creating and updating circuit and equipment records. Responsible for all things related to Radio Communications, Microwave, Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT), and other radio communication systems. Also responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications, including database development and administration, Apache HTTP server setup and maintenance.                                                                                                                                                    

DUITES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Installs, removes, tests, maintains, programming, and repairs communications equipment or systems, including but not limited to, base and mobile two-way radios, antenna systems, emergency warning systems, and other state-of-the-art electronic communications measuring and surveillance equipment.
• Manage Balad Airbase radio spectrum in accordance with mission needs.
• Provide field modifications, develop, and construct circuits, systems and peripheral communication assemblies using the manufacturer’s instructions, best practices, and industry standards.
• Radio frequency (RF) circuitry and propagation, digital circuitry, solid state circuitry and A/C circuitry.
• Checks frequencies and solves interference problems by troubleshooting using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, checklists, maintenance manuals, and schematics.
• Install, test, tune, and align duplexers, pre-selectors, repeaters, base stations, mobiles, and portables.
• Maintain, configure digital radio dispatch consoles.
• Conduct monitoring of microwave and essential Radio network, daily, to ensure the availability and reliability of the network.
• Optimization/calibration of equipment to manufacturers specifications.
• Install, maintain, and configure digital voice recording systems (DVRS).
• Ensure stability of VSAT network by maintaining, configuring/reconfiguring, and monitoring for defects or issues.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, upgrade, and other duties to ensure the Zetron communications systems are operational.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all essential Radio equipment (Repeaters, duplexers, Base Stations, VSAT, Loudspeaker, etc.).
• Install and repair equipment and systems where little or no documentation is available.
• Practice and use Safety/QA/QC/OSHA best practices when performing duties.
• Be able to properly operate test equipment, to include service monitors, spectrum analyzers, T1 testers, power meters, and RF cable analyzers and provide expertise to other team members.
• Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot Apache web servers.
• Maintain databases such as MySQL and MSSQL.

• Provide technical support and maintenance for existing web applications.
• Design and develop the front-end and back-end for the web applications according to the customer instructions and needs.
• Maintain and administer application development using HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, and AJAX with MySQL back-end database repository.
• Document procedures, projects, and systems.
• Provide IT management with estimates of manpower resources, time, and costs for materials and equipment to upgrade and maintain communication systems.
• Preparing budget reports and correspondence related to the activities of communication maintenance.
