About the role

At St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, every new employee’s journey begins with an introduction to our mission, culture, and community—and you will be the one to make that first impression meaningful. We are seeking a detail-oriented, process-driven professional to oversee our New Employee Orientation (NEO) program and provide broad support for HR operations. In this role, you’ll coordinate the logistics that bring learning experiences to life—room scheduling, catering, materials, and technology—while ensuring consistency, accuracy, and a seamless experience for our new hires. This is a highly collaborative role where you’ll work closely with senior specialists and HR partners, while also managing projects with independence.

The right candidate will thrive on organization and efficiency, finding satisfaction in building systems, maintaining spreadsheets, and tracking details that ensure nothing falls through the cracks. You’ll be empowered to look beyond checklists and propose continuous improvements that enhance the employee experience. If you are someone who values learning, loves bringing structure to complex processes, and takes pride in creating a welcoming, engaging start for others, this role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact at one of the world’s most respected pediatric research hospitals.

This is a hybrid, hourly position at the senior administrative level. We are excited to hear from candidates who see the importance of this work and are excited to contribute to the success of our employees from day one.

Minimum Education and/or Training:

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum Requirement: 2+ years of experience in any HR related area.
  • Experience Exception: Bachelors degree with some HR support experience preferred.
  • Some experience with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel), preferred and a general comfort with digital tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to work collaboratively, plan and prioritize own work.
  • Able to stay calm under stress and deal with ambiguity.

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $26.00 - $45.50 per hour for the role of Senior HR Specialist (Talent Development).
