Senior Grants Financial Analyst
Indian River State College is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Grants Financial Analyst to oversee the financial management of grant funds and ensure compliance with sponsor guidelines. This role involves preparing financial reports, monitoring expenditures, reconciling accounts, and supporting audits. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (master’s preferred), five years of experience in post-award grant management, and expertise in ERP systems. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects are essential. CPA, CGMP, or CFRA certification is a plus. JOB SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, this position leads the implementation of grants from various sponsors. Oversees the financial management of grant funds, ensuring compliance with grant guidelines and tracking expenditures against budgets. Responsibilities include preparing financial reports, supporting audit processes, and monitoring the financial health of grant-funded projects. Reconciles, reports, and analyzes financial data related to grants and contracts. Works closely with the Executive Director of Grants and Sponsored Programs, as well as the Grants Management and Compliance team, to ensure grant funds are utilized appropriately and in a timely manner.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Prepare financial reports and projections for the full grant portfolio.
- Monitor spending rates of active grant awards, direct the project team on needed adjustments.
- Conduct internal account audits of all grant awards, monitor aging purchase orders / invoices and assist project teams in closing open purchase orders and invoices in a timely manner.
- Monitor grant revenue and expenses, work with Grant Accounts Analyst to provide solutions.
- Ensure compliance wit
- Serve as lead grants analyst in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system conversion and implementation.
- Track deadlines for invoicing, financial reporting, and closeout of each award/contract.
- Assist with internal and external audits and suggest processes to enhance efficiencies.
- Provide budget management training to Grant Accounts Analysts and Project Directors.
- Provide interpretation and application of laws, regulations, contracts, grant agreements, and where applicable, accounting standards.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to remain current in grant regulations and accounting standards.
- Complete other related duties and assignment as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Masters preferred.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in post award sponsored programs management;
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Grants Management Professional
