Duties, Responsibilities & Other
At KCI, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Project Operations is the backbone of how projects are planned, executed, and delivered across the firm. As the organization continues to grow, KCI is investing in stronger functional ownership of this platform to better support project managers, delivery teams, and leadership with scalable workflows, reliable data, and consistent delivery practices. The Enterprise Technology organization partners closely with the business to evolve Project Operations from a system of record into a strategic enabler of project execution.
The Senior Functional Analyst – Project Operations is a newly created role for an experienced Project Manager or delivery leader who wants to expand their impact beyond managing individual projects and help shape how project delivery works at scale. In this role, you serve as the functional owner of Project Operations, working directly with Project Managers, Principals, Operations leadership, and the PMO to identify pain points, design better workflows, and guide enhancements from concept through implementation. Rather than owning a project portfolio, you’ll use your delivery expertise to influence standards, improve adoption, and partner with technical teams to turn real-world PM needs into lasting platform capabilities that elevate how projects are delivered across the firm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities*:
- Accountable for the long-term integrity, accuracy, and usability of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Project Operations, serving as the senior subject matter expert (SME) for project-based and PM driven workflows.
- Operate with a high degree of functional autonomy for Project Operations, partnering with the Director of Enterprise Systems on core platform decisions, material workflow changes, and long-term strategic direction.
- Own Project Operations post-implementation functional design, configuration standards, and operational use across project setup, execution, tracking, and delivery workflows used by project managers and delivery teams.
- Establish and evolve functional standards for Project Operations, shaping how projects are planned, managed, governed and reported across the organization.
- Serve as the primary functional owner and escalation point for Project Operations decisions, tradeoffs, and cross-functional issue resolution.
- Own functional prioritization and approval of Project Operations enhancements and configuration changes, including definition of functional and configuration-specific requirements aligned to operational priorities and platform impact.
- Drive stakeholder alignment and decision-making to resolve competing priorities affecting project delivery timelines, workflow design, and platform stability.
- Lead functional analysis
