About the opportunity

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you'll play a key role in providing strategic analysis and insights to drive major business decisions and improve Sydecar's financial performance. You will analyze complex financial data and metrics to identify critical trends, insights, and opportunities for growth and cost efficiency.

What you'll be doing

• Conduct in-depth financial analysis and modeling to support strategic planning, decision-making, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Conduct detailed and well-thought out financial analysis to support data-driven decision making

  • Form hypothesis based on learning the business and strategic objectives

  • Continually improve processes through automation to clear time to work on new strategic initiatives

  • Partner with leaders on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives

• Develop, maintain, and refine financial models, projections, forecasts, and scenarios to evaluate potential business decisions and their financial impact.

  • Maintain 3-statement financial model

  • Create and analyze forecast scenarios

  • Perform What-If analysis

• Prepare comprehensive financial reports for management, investors, and other stakeholders, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.

  • Prepare and automate financial reporting for management, investors, and stakeholders

  • Develop, track, and report on key performance indicators

  • Provide commentary that highlights trends, risks, and opportunities

• Provide actionable recommendations and insights to executive leadership, department heads, and key stakeholders.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial data accuracy and to evaluate new programs, investments, and strategies.

• Monitor financial performance against goals and provide reports on variances, optimization recommendations, and proposals for corrective action.

• Prepare and present clear, compelling financial reports and visualizations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field from an accredited university.

• 3 years of experience performing advanced financial analysis

• Expertise in financial analysis, effective reporting, and presentation creation.

• Comfortable with general accounting principles, financial management, and business strategy; curious about capital markets. 

• Proven ability to make impactful financial recommendations and drive strategic changes.

• Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a talent for influencing stakeholders.

• Desire to own initiatives, speak up, and work independently

• Optional certifications in finance, accounting, or data analysis demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and excellence.

• Preferred experience in tech, but not required.
