The Opportunity
This position is an onsite opportunity in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division. We are helping people with Diabetes lead healthier, happier lives. Consistent and accurate glucose monitoring is the foundation of any diabetes management plan, so we’re committed to continuous improvement in the way patients and professionals measure, track and analyze glucose levels.
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will support and partner with Global Finance & Commercial Area teams with a particular focus on sales and the P&L. Coordinates with Division HQ to meet finance requirements and deadlines for the team. Enhance and create analytics to support the understanding of sales in our LBE submissions and other reporting processes. This is an onsite opportunity in Alameda, CA.
What You’ll Do:
- Facilitate and help develop the forecasts for Global Commercial for Plan, rLBE, and OEM
- Ensures completeness and accuracy of the financial submissions.
- Meets deadlines set by Division HQ and DVP Global Commercial Finance on multiple schedules due on a monthly/quarterly/ad hoc basis
- Interpret financial results and recommend options based upon analysis of data and information.
- Contributes to the strategic planning process by providing baseline information and financial support to non-financial business partners.
- Establishes partnerships within Global Commercial, Division HQ and Area Finance teams to acquire and/or provide relevant information
- Responds to ad hoc financial and market requests.
- Identify meaningful analytics including trend analyses, which can be gleaned from rLBE submissions that can be presented to Global Commercial senior leadership to help ensure forecast accuracy and identify areas for potential improvement within the P&L.
- Operates with a significant amount of autonomy, works independently, and proactively navigates the division network to accomplish goals/tasks, but is also interested in working with other GCHQ team members to ensure team success
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
Required:
- Bachelors Degree (preferably in finance, accounting or economics)
- 3 years financial analysis experience.
- Ability to plan, implement, and administer financial information and control systems.
- Knowledge of the principles, processes and standards for integrated financial analysis and reporting.
- Highly proficient in Excel.
Preferred:
- Masters Degree / MBA preferred
- Experience with EssBase and Hyperion/ Pillar budgeting software a plus
