Position Summary
Manages compliance in environmental, occupational health, and safety programs for University facilities. Liaise and ensure compliance with regulatory agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) or Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). Program management may include programs such as hazard communication, hazardous and universal waste disposal, lead and asbestos in construction, residential and academic facilities, industrial hygiene, water and indoor air quality, emergency response, petroleum bulk storage (USTs, ASTs) and Spill, Prevention, Control and Conservation (SPCC) compliance, respiratory protection, and hearing conservation. Manage and maintain all records and ensure that all appropriate documents are filed with the relevant regulatory agencies. Conduct hazard assessments, assign PPE and provide safety training to ensure the University is in compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations subject to change as the University Building, Life, Safety and Compliance needs grow.
Qualifications
Required Education:Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Safety, Engineering or SciencePreferred Education:Master's degreeRequired Experience:5 years' increasingly responsible managerial level experience with Environmental Health and Safety programs. Must include working knowledge of industrial hygiene, environmental principles, and regulatory requirements.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to develop and maintain web pages. Research and writing skills required.Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Knowledge of federal, state and local environmental regulations and NYC fire and building code.

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $X to USD $X. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
