Job Description

AECOM’s Water Business Line is seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Engineering Project Leader- Wastewater for immediate employment at AECOM‘s Raleigh, NC or Charlotte, NC  Office with flexibility of having a hybrid schedule with work in office 2-3 days per week. AECOM's mature and growing water / wastewater practice in North Carolina and adjacent states work with our region's largest water and wastewater utilities and supports AECOM's national and global Water business to executed transformative projects around the globe. AECOM was just announced as #1 in Water by the ENR.

The qualified applicant should have extensive experience leading the analysis and design of water/wastewater treatment facilities, collection systems and conveyance systems. This position will provide the opportunity by lead an engineering team on a wide variety of projects. Project Leadership, managing and mentoring technical staff, developing new business and maintaining client relationships.

AECOM has an extensive portfolio of municipal clients and utility projects in North and South Carolina. Our highly capable technical teams are in place and experienced in delivering complex projects for clients. The qualified applicant will join a mature business, with a unique opportunity to immediately begin managing multiple clients and employees.

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering plus 8 years of relevant experience and demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • At least 8 years' experience in municipal water/wastewater infrastructure design, assessment, and rehabilitation, including treatment, conveyance and pumping systems
  • 3+ years of Project Management Experience
  • Professional Engineer in North Carolina or ability to obtain reciprocity within six (6) months
  • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • 12 years' experience in municipal water/wastewater infrastructure design, assessment, and rehabilitation, including treatment, conveyance and pumping systems
  • Demonstrated experience in leading complex municipal Water / Wastewater projects, preferably in North Carolina
  • Experience managing staff and leading multidiscipline project design teams
  • Experience in coordination with regulatory agencies
  • Experience presenting at professional conferences, leading technical workshops
