Additional Job Summary/Info:

This position is a Front End/Full Stack Developer position, supporting end to end as a Lead for smart tv platforms. Ideally 5 years + software engineer experience with video platform/OTT apps/video player is preferred to setting up for success in the role, along with strong collaboration with off-shore, program, product & other teams.

• Position is office based in Philadelphia, PA or Irvine, CA- 4 days/week & 1 day remote.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred; may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.
• 7 years + software engineering experience with 5+ Years of Professional experience working in a large-scale enterprise system and experience with Web Technologies including, but not limited to JavaScript ES6+, ReactJS, React Native, HTML5, Node.js
• General writing, calling, and orchestrating web/micro-services
• Working knowledge of configuration and infrastructure management tools. AWS/GCP, CloudFormation, Ansible and consul preferred and general DevOps knowledge: CI/CD, Terraform, Vault (Concourse/Circle CI/Jenkins).
• Experience with Video technologies: HLS, MP4, Mpeg-Dash
• Experience with Video content protection technologies: Widevine, PlayReady, FairPlay.
• Proficient using modern tools for system observability.

• Excellent Presentation & Communication Skills

Desired Qualifications:

• Familiar with best practices for Operational Excellence.
• Experience with Java/Spring Framework.

Core Responsibilities

• Collaborates with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements. Conducts analysis to determine integration needs.
• Designs new software and web applications, supports applications under development and customizes current applications. Develops software update process for existing applications. Assists in the roll-out of software releases.
• Trains junior Software Development Engineers on internally developed software applications.
• Oversees the researching, writing and editing of documentation and technical requirements, including evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals and formal recommendations and reports.
• Keeps current with technological developments within the industry. Monitors and evaluates competitive applications and products. Reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.
• Provides technical leadership throughout the design process and guidance with regards to practices, procedures and techniques. Serves as a guide and mentor for junior level Software Development Engineers.
• Assists in tracking and evaluating performance metrics. Ensures team delivers software on time, to specification and within budget.
• Works with Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements.
• Displays expertise in knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts and skills and their application in the area of specified engineering specialty.
