Job Summary

The Senior Software Engineer is an integral part of our Electro Optical Infrared System (EOIS) Software Development Team. Responsible for leading technical activities and completing such activities on time, this engineer can execute in all phases of the development lifecycle and influencing the design architecture to ensure robust operation.  Tasks include developing embedded software, PC tools and utilities, and implementing networking/communications protocols. Determines hardware compatibility and influences component selection. Completes design documentation and procedures to build, install, and maintain software. Interacts with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications. Job Responsibilities

• Supports and participates in technical activities.
• Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems. 
• May use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments. 
• Ability to work independently and under supervision of others.
• Provides regular reporting of progress and status.
• Reviews customer specifications and requirements, and under direction, develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable. 
• Supports design to cost and design for manufacture requirements.
• Develop prototypes to retire key development risks as directed.
• Communicates clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required.
• Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Computer Engineering, Computer Science) or related technical field with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD clearance, which requires US citizenship.
• 3+ years of real time embedded SW experience.
• 3 years+ experience with firmware and/or micro controllers.
• Demonstrated experience with Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS), Linux and has experience in bare-metal implementation of embedded systems.
• Experience with embedded device drivers (TCP/ IP, UART, 12C, PCIe, MIPI), preferably on Linux.
• Solid understanding of multi-threading/multi-processing, concepts, implementations, and debugging techniques.
• 3+ years strong development experience utilizing C or C++.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, including MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and MS Excel.
• Motivated, self-starter.
