Job Description

The Senior Electrical Drafter will be responsible for leading the drafting team in the development of installation construction packages for facility power distribution systems, grounding, and lighting system in industrial facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop execution plans of drafting deliverables.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers and designers.
  • Lead the engineering drafting team and delegate appropriate efforts.
  • Work with engineering, design, and drafting staff to generate complete and accurate installation details, motor elementaries, and plan drawings identifying locations of motors, electrical loads, electrical equipment placement, and cable trays layouts.
  • Review and integrate Vendor equipment documentation into construction packages.
  • Prepare bid, construction, and demo packages for contractor use.
  • Provide technical direction to drafting staff.
  • Lead project checking teams to review the engineering drawing packages

Qualifications

You must have the legal right to live and work in the United States. 

  • 10-15 years’ experience in design and/or drafting of electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of NEC and electrical construction methods and materials, a plus.
  • Experience with electrical systems in the Pulp and Paper industry is preferred.  Experience in other light and heavy industry is also acceptable.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite of applications.
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software.
  • Working knowledge of drafting standards and procedures.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable with working in a team environment.
