Job Description
The Washington Post is seeking a visionary Senior Director of Talent Relations Network to lead and expand our star talent initiatives. This senior-level position will establish and drive short and mid-range strategic goals for our talent network, focusing on nurturing and growing our community of public-facing Post talent. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in talent management, particularly with high-profile individuals and executives, and will excel in a dynamic, results-driven environment. This role demands a strategic thinker with exceptional relationship-building skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.
The position reports to the Chief Communications Officer and will build and grow our star talent network and community of public-facing Post talent.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the strategic vision for The Post's talent management department. Set and achieve short and mid-range goals to enhance and expand our talent network.
- Lead and mentor a high performing talent relations team. Collaborate closely with the PR, marketing, newsroom, social media, and awards teams to ensure cohesive and effective talent management strategies.
- Cultivate and maintain robust professional relationships with talent, publicists, managers, agents, and event production teams. Provide a comprehensive 360-degree talent relations experience from onboarding through ongoing engagement.
- Leverage relationships with editorial, marketing, public relations, sales, consumer products and corporate & social responsibility teams to utilize talent to achieve key performance indicators.
- Oversee internal and external talent requests, providing strategic guidance and tracking projects through to successful completion. Ensure alignment with overall organizational goals.
- Identify and create new partnership and relationship opportunities for talent, both within and outside of the media landscape.
- Offer direct support for talent during in-person gatherings and events, including industry, corporate, and internal events, ensuring a seamless and professional experience.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in talent management from the media or entertainment industry, with a demonstrated ability to lead strategic initiatives from conception to execution.
- Proven expertise in leading teams, with strong strategic planning, execution skills, and the ability to thrive in high-energy, high-profile environments.
- Exceptional relationship-building abilities, with expert-level diplomacy and negotiation skills. Adept at managing complex dynamics and navigating high-stakes situations.
- Deep understanding of media, publicity, communications, and marketing. Ability to stay ahead of industry trends and adapt strategies accordingly.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing business directions and goals with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
- Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, Power Point, and Internet
- Travel willingness to travel as required to support talent and attend relevant events.
