Job Description

This is a Senior Director-level leadership role with enterprise-wide accountability for platform standards, developer experience, and engineering productivity. Beyond product ownership, you will lead a team and guide cross-functional execution, influencing senior stakeholders, and advocating for the adoption of SDLC, CI/CD, and Cloud Native standards across the organization.

Operating with a product mindset, you will partner with Infrastructure, Security, Developer Experience, and AI teams to establish standards that become the preferred path for engineering teams globally. Rather than operating tools directly, you will define what good is, increase adoption, and measure outcomes through data and continuous improvement.

You will report to Head of DevEx & AI Tooling

What You'll Do:

CI/CD Golden Path Pipelines

  • Define and maintain CI/CD standards and reusable pipeline templates across Harness and GitHub Actions.
  • Embed security, quality, compliance, and AI workflow integrations into software delivery pipelines.
  • Establish standards for deployment automation, observability, and progressive delivery practices.

Cloud-Native Landing Zone & Account Provisioning

  • Define cloud landing zone standards, provisioning models, governance controls, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) patterns.
  • Establish secure, scalable, and cost-conscious approaches to cloud and container platform adoption across AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI.

Developer Tooling Standards

  • Define standards across Jira, source control, Artifactory, Confluence, and related SDLC tooling.
  • Partner with platform teams to deliver automated onboarding and self-service developer experiences.

Platform Adoption & DORA Metrics

  • Define DORA and platform adoption metrics to measure software delivery effectiveness.
  • Increase adoption of standards through partnership, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For:

  • 8+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Developer Experience, or related technology fields.
  • Experience in designing and scaling CI/CD platforms, cloud-native solutions, and engineering standards in enterprise environments.
  • Knowledge on cloud platforms, Infrastructure as Code, developer tooling, software supply chain security, and engineering metrics.
  • You will need to demonstrate ability to influence team members, establish standards, and improve adoption across complex, matrixed organizations.

Main Skills

  • CI/CD platform depth — Harness and GitHub Actions pipeline authoring, template libraries, versioning, and required control set implementation
  • Cloud-native infrastructure — landing zone design and VPC architecture with deep expertise in at least one major provider (AWS preferred), EKS/ECS provisioning patterns, IaC with Terraform/OpenTofu; able to write and review IaC, not just configure consoles
  • Pipeline integration for security and AI workflows — wiring SAST/SCA/SBOM/signing hooks and AI-agent trigger points into pipeline templates, in partnership with the teams that own the underlying tooling and agent logic
  • Developer tooling standards design — Jira workflow design, Artifactory repository governance, SCM branching and PR standards, Confluence space and template standards
  • Progressive delivery and deployment patterns — canary, blue/green, feature flag integration; DORA metrics instrumentation from SCM and pipeline events
  • Cost-aware infrastructure design — cost attribution tagging, budget guardrails, and TCO estimation as part of the provisioning experience
  • Standards as a product — defining, documenting, and socializing developer tooling standar
