The Digital and Transformation Organization is seeking a Senior Director to lead and advance Machine Intelligence strategies and technicians for the Enterprise. Summary
The Sr Director of Machine Learning is responsible for overseeing a team of machine learning engineers and data scientists, guiding the development, deployment and change control of machine learning models, and aligning them with business goals. This Lead designs and builds robust software to support business decisions, operations, and strategies. The role establishes and maintains AI/ML strategies and roadmaps that span all of HP. The Sr Director communicates technical development concepts, progress, challenges, and outcomes to stakeholders and senior management. The role provides technical guidance and mentorship to team members and fosters a culture of continuous professional growth, excellence, and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the machine learning vision and strategy for the company, aligned with business goals and user needs.

• Attract, develop, and retain top talent. Lead and manage a team of machine learning engineers, data scientists, and data engineers, providing technical guidance, feedback, and career development support.

• Establish and maintain best practices and standards for machine learning development, ensuring quality, scalability, and reliability of the AI solutions.

• Drive the end-to-end lifecycle of digital products, from ideation, prototyping, experimentation, to production deployment and monitoring.

• Stay abreast of the latest advances in machine learning and apply them to solve real-world problems and create value for the company and our customers.

• Work with HP’s leadership to develop and implement organizational and Enterprise-wide strategies.

• Communicate and present machine learning results and insights to internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, product teams, and clients.

Requirements

• PhD or master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Statistics, or related field.

• 10+ years of experience in machine learning development, with a proven track record of delivering high-impact and scalable AI solutions.

• 5+ years of experience in leading and managing machine learning teams, with strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Expertise in machine learning domains such as computer vision, natural language processing, recommender systems, generative AI, anomaly detection, etc.

• Experience in physics-based modeling, telemetry, and on-board sensor data to create transformative customer experiences, intelligent products, and smart factories.

• Proficiency in machine learning frameworks and tools, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, etc.

• Experience in cloud computing platforms, such as AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.

• Experience in agile software development methodologies, such as Scrum, Kanban, etc.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and adapt to changing requirements and priorities.
