Yahoo is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Director of Business Development for our Strategic Business Development team. In this role, you will report to the SVP of Strategic Business Development and assist in new opportunities and partnerships as a means to grow revenue and maximize enterprise value across Yahoo’s core businesses, including News, Finance, Sports, Commerce, Search, and Ads, and new businesses, as well as business model acceleration and delivery through licensing, revenue split deals, advertising, subscription, partnerships and other monetization opportunities.

As a seasoned deal maker and leader, you will work collaboratively with business unit leaders and leaders across Yahoo to identify strategic relationships that will bring meaningful revenue to Yahoo and extend our audience reach. You will engage with prospective partners, qualify opportunities, and lead the negotiation of complex deals. This role will require close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders across Yahoo, including senior leads within our finance, product, legal, and marketing teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies aligned with Yahoo’s overall vision and goals

  • Provide strategic leadership to the Business Development team, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key partners, clients, and stakeholders

  • Lead the negotiation and execution of strategic partnerships to achieve company goals

  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, markets, and areas for expansion

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop competitive proposals and close high-impact deals

  • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented culture within the Business Development team

  • Contribute to the development of the company's overall strategic plans and objectives

  • Provide insights and recommendations based on market trends, competitive analysis, and industry developments

  • Report regularly to executive leadership on Business Development progress, challenges, and opportunities

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field; MBA preferred

  • 10+ years in a Business Development role, working with both public and private companies

  • Proven track record of successful business development in the tech/media industry

  • Extensive experience in negotiating and closing complex deals

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills

  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
