About the role:

We’re seeking a hands-on and self-starting Senior Developer Advocate at Samsara. Samsara processes 9T+ data points annually, supports 100B+ API calls, and boasts a growing marketplace with 300+ partner integrations. Our customers and partners are increasingly leveraging this data to build innovative applications in the connected operations space, and you will be at the forefront of this expansion. 

As part of Developer Relations at Samsara, you will create momentum and drive adoption of the platform through your interactions with developers building applications and businesses on Samsara. You’ll report to Samsara’s Head of Developer Ecosystem and collaborate with a world-class team of product, engineering, business development, and marketing professionals. 

This role is open to candidates residing in the US and Canada.

In this role, you will: 

  • Create high-impact 1:many content and resources for developers, including sample applications, developer guides, video tutorials, and more. This is the most high-impact and important aspect of the role, as the industry moves towards code-generation and coding assistants.
  • Influence the direction of our developer offerings through running tight feedback loops with developers, identifying key developer experience gaps, and championing empathy for the developer persona across Samsara.
  • Drive growth of the developer community by engaging with and fostering interactions between developers through office hours, hackathons, webinars, forums, developer campaigns, owning the Developer Track at Samsara’s customer conference, oand more.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 4-6+ years in developer advocacy or in a comparable role (e.g. software development)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and proficient in communicating technical concepts simplistically. Must be comfortable presenting to customers, partners, and internal audiences, and must exhibit empathy for a wide range of developers (e.g. developers just starting out, developers using the latest technologies, developers coding on legacy stacks)
  • Proven track record of delivering engaging, well-written, and technically robust enablement content for a technical audience (e.g. guides, blogs, videos). A key portion of the interview process will be walking the inte
