WORK WEEK SCHEDULE

Monday-Friday (occasional evenings and weekends) Position is available for a Hybrid Telework workweek 

 

POSITION PURPOSE:

Oversees the development and administration of school and district-wide professional development activities associated with data literacy, accountability, and assessment literacy. Provides training and technical support to Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) schools and departments on the use of data in decision-making processes as well as oversees the development of resources designed to assist staff in the interpretation of state and federal reports. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs)

  • Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point; Google Apps;

  • Strong attention to detail and fundamental concern of the accuracy of information;  

  • Ability to develop, manage, and deliver high quality professional development to school and district staff on the use of educational data;  

  • Ability to supervise adults;

  • Ability to utilize multi-media platforms to create resources for stakeholders;

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines;

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback; 

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school system staff, external agencies, attorneys, parents, and the public.

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree in school administration from an accredited university;

  • Three years of K-12 teaching experience; 

  • Three years of experience in conducting professional development activities for adults pertaining to data and assessment literacy;

  • Experience supervising adults;

  • Experience with using assessments as a part of instruction;

  • Proficiency in multimedia platforms (e.g., Camtasia, Google Studio);

  • Knowledge of state and federal accountability and growth models to include EVAAS.

CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

  • North Carolina Professional Educator's License for School Administrator-Principal;

  • Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license according to the State of North Carolina requirements.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with development and delivery of virtual training; 

  • Experience with analyzing and interpreting data; 

  • Recent experience as a K-12 administrator;

  • Knowledge of the nature of data and data use in K-12 education;

  • Ability to meet timelines in an environment of multiple, concurrent projects. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Designs and delivers training programs on data-driven decision-making for school and central services personnel.

  • Provides technical support to school and central services personnel around data use, particularly the use of data to inform instruction.

  • Creates digital resources for school staff pertaining to data use and the NC Accountability Model.

  • Supervises two cooperating teachers in the department.

  • Manages all training activities for the department to include EVAAS training.

  • Stays abreast of current trends in K-12 curriculum and assessment.

  • Provides technical support to school and central services personnel around the use of performance assessments, particularly on how to access and interpret results and incorporate the 4Cs as a part of instruction.

  • Works with other departments to form strong problem-solving collaborative relationships to improve the current and future use of data in schools.

  • Contributes to projects related to educational practice and research.
