Senior Data Engineer

Job Description:

With the vision of FIP as the Enterprise Investment platform it is critical to migrate FMDB and dependent applications to cloud through rewrite and application modernization. This request is to supplement the team with an Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL Developer with cloud knowledge. 

We're looking for a candidate with hands-on experience and expertise on Oracle Database, SQL , PL/SQL & Informatica Power Center (ETL) tools with knowledge on AWS/Azure cloud. 

The Purpose of This Role 

Workplace Investing (WI) technology team is seeking highly motivated, passionate Lead Data Engineer with strong understanding of programming fundamentals and software design. In this role you will be responsible for development and maintenance of backend of applications, production support & incident management of critical platforms. As a senior, you will be part of a dynamic team with an opportunity to partner closely with the business and technology teams across the shores and will be a key enabler in creation/adoption of the technology.

• Development and maintenance projects, Production Support & Incident Management. 

• Actively participate in release planning, daily stand up as well as working & helping team with tactical activities like PL/SQL, ETL Development, maintenance, code review, performance tuning, bug fix, troubleshooting production incidents, design optimization etc. 

• Recommending and following the best engineering practices. 

• Building quality solutions that align with the technology blueprint and best practices to solve business problems by driving design, development, and ongoing support. 

The Skills that are Key to this role 

• Strong in Oracle and PostgreSQL database Concepts, exposure to aerospike. 

• Hands-on Development in SQL / PL SQL which includes performance tuning, writing packages, stored procedures, troubleshooting skills etc. 

• Hands-on development in informatica PowerCenter. Exposure to snaplogic. 

• Should have some exposure to Data modeling so that he/she can contribute in terms of redesigning of database objects, especially during performance issues. 

• Experience analyzing large system data structures to convert to documentation. 

• Exposure to UNIX Environment and scripting. 

• Exposure to Control M, Source Tree 

• Having knowledge in cloud concepts (Aws/Azure), snowflake, data lake is preferred.
