Description of Work
This position is designated as Exempt Policy-Making under G.S. 126-5(c)(3) and is considered an at-will appointment.The Office of the State Auditor (OSA) is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to serve on our Data Analytics Division and support audit efforts by leading complex data analysis.
As part of our team, you will get to:
Identify risk indicators and develop tools to enhance audit effectiveness
Design and develop interactive dashboards, data visualizations, and reporting tools that clearly communicate findings and drive decision-making
Identify trends, anomalies, and performance issues in state agency and internal operational data
Provide quality assurance and peer review for analysis and visual products developed by junior analysts
Collaborate with audit teams to define data needs and deliver insights that enhance audit planning, fieldwork, and reporting
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Salary Range: $75,925 - $148,054

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities/Competencies
Advanced skills in data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language commonly used for analysis (e.g., Python, R)
Demonstrated ability to communicate data-driven findings through compelling visual narratives
