Join our library team as the Senior Customer Service Representative at the North Port Public Library and play a key role in supporting, library programs/projects, training staff, supporting management, and providing customer service. While the primary focus will be customer service, the Senior Customer Service Representative will also maintain the order of the Circulation Workroom, manage the tasks and duties of the Customer Service Representatives, and organize purchases that support library initiatives. In this role, you will...
Assist customers regarding library services, resources, technology and programs for the assigned unit as well as the library system.
Implement standards of service that ensure the prompt and efficient resolution of each inquiry by internal and external customers, delivered with the utmost respect and courtesy.
May facilitate in the setup of program rooms, materials, and equipment for public, library, and County events.
Assist in materials checkout/check-in, retrieves and process reserves, billing and missing items processes as needed.
Gathers statistical information as required.
Participates in system-wide, agency, and county teams and projects.
Assists in cash management duties such as collecting fees, and Unique Management collections, including such duties as daily shift, drawer counts, and deposits as needed.
Assists at service desks and to other sections as needed.
Keeps abreast of developments, new trends, and innovations in libraries; applies knowledge to improve services.
About the Schedule
Work Hours:
Full-Time - 40 Hours Per Week
Expected to participate in all hours of operation including daytime, evening, and weekend hours (8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.)
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent education.
1-year experience as an Entry Level Customer Service Representative.
Preferred Qualifications:
2-5 years experience in public contact customer service work.
Proficiency in computer related to public response.
Customer service experience working in libraries or similar settings.
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.
About Everything Else
Pay: Starts at $ 20.91/hr
