We are seeking a senior level Communications Specialist to support a NASA contract in Greenbelt, MD.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a strategic, project management–minded communications professional to provide high-level support to NASA’s Information Technology and Communications Directorate, Code 700. This is a unique hybrid role that blends strategic internal communications, executive support, and project portfolio oversight for a fast-evolving IT organization at NASA Goddard. The selected candidate will contribute to mission-critical communications and portfolio management efforts.
This individual must bring a strong understanding of IT services, organizational dynamics, and business alignment, paired with excellent writing, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills. The ideal candidate thrives in complex technical environments, communicates clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, and can provide high-quality strategic support to senior leadership.

Responsibilities:
• Support development and maintenance of internal libraries including brochures, key reports, presentations, and other reference materials.
• Manage databases and shared repositories to ensure accessibility and version control of organizational content.
• Assist in the creation and organization of internal communications, marketing materials, and cross-cutting initiatives.
• Coordinate the preparation of executive-level documents, presentations, and briefing materials.
• Support executive reporting, tracking deliverables, and maintaining alignment across organization initiatives.
• Perform general business support duties, including procurement coordination, cost planning, and administrative operations.
• Develop, recommend, track, and review requirements, policies, programs, and procedures to carry out the functions of information technology services.
• Communicate information technology service plans, progress, status, risk, and issues to senior officials.
• Maintain portfolio of information technology programs and projects applying performance measurements, bench marking, and evaluating their effectiveness in meeting program objectives.
• Work with organizational leaders to capture, track, assess, and communicate status of the financial portfolio for information technology services throughout the organization.
• Review, evaluate, and communicate information technology objectives, goals, and accomplishments to ensured continued alignment with the broader business needs of an organization.
• Determine information technology service deficiencies and recommending necessary changes to senior leaders.
• Develop recommendations to senior information technology leaders for service adjustments and cost reductions based on resource constraints and/or changing operational environment.
• Additional duties as required.

Requirements:
• This is a full-time in-office position at Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD.
• Experience in IT communications, program management, or strategic support within a large technical or government organization.
• Strong understanding of IT services, governance, and enterprise-level service delivery.
• Experience developing, tracking, and reviewing IT policies, programs, and performance metrics.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior officials.
• Experience supporting executive-level stakeholders with planning, reporting, and internal communications.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams.
• Must have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Able to work respectfully with all levels.
• Must have the ability to balance multiple priorities and respond / produce quality, accurate work efficiently with short deadline actions in a fast-paced environment.
• Individual must meet government NAC and citizenship/permanent residency requirements for access to NASA GSFC. Extensive background investigation will be performed as a requirement of the job. Some travel may be required.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree and 8-10 or more years of experience or equivalent related experience in lieu of degree.
