Job Description

Lead the implementation of containerized infrastructure to support a major defense modernization initiative. As the Senior Infrastructure Architect, you'll design, implement, and manage Kubernetes environments enabling the transformation of mission-critical applications within the UWS ecosystem. You'll establish and evolve a robust Platform as a Service (PaaS) ecosystem that forms the foundation for this significant modernization effort. Your expertise in Kubernetes and container orchestration will create infrastructure optimized for performance, security, and scalability in support of national defense priorities. 

A critical aspect of your role will be guiding the migration process from legacy workloads to containerized environments. You'll develop migration strategies, design containerization approaches, and implement the infrastructure pathways that enable successful transitions for critical defense applications. While your primary focus is infrastructure architecture, familiarity with software development concepts would be advantageous as you navigate the complexities of containerizing legacy systems. You'll manage containerized environments and cloud-native deployment platforms that directly impact the effectiveness of essential defense systems, ensuring seamless operation throughout the modernization journey.

Strategic Leadership & Innovation 

• Architect Next-Generation Infrastructure - Design and implement cutting-edge infrastructure solutions across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments that scale seamlessly and future-proof your organization's technology foundation. 

• Drive Infrastructure Modernization - Conduct comprehensive assessments of existing systems and processes, delivering strategic recommendations that enhance automation, efficiency, and orchestration while supporting application modernization initiatives. 

• Provide Technical Leadership - Deliver architectural guidance that aligns infrastructure solutions with both business objectives and technical requirements, while mentoring team members and developing long-term strategic roadmaps. 

• Foster Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work closely with both business stakeholders and technical teams to deeply understand requirements and deliver infrastructure solutions that enable innovation and sustainable growth. 

Technical Implementation & Management 

• Orchestrate Kubernetes Excellence - Deploy, configure, and manage RKE2 Kubernetes clusters across the entire environment pipeline, ensuring consistent performance from development through production. 

• Enable Application Transformation - Support the strategic migration of legacy applications to modern containerized environments, unlocking new capabilities and efficiencies. 

• Resolve Complex Challenges - Apply deep technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve sophisticated infrastructure issues that impact business operations.
