Job Description

As an AWS Cloud Data Engineer, you'll be at the heart of our data-driven initiatives, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust and scalable data solutions on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud platform. You will leverage your expertise in a wide array of AWS services and big data technologies to transform raw data into valuable, usable insights. 

This critical role involves developing end-to-end data pipelines, managing data lakes using formats like Apache Iceberg, and creating secure, high-performance APIs to deliver data products to stakeholders. You will work closely with business partners, data scientists, analysts, and other engineering teams to understand data requirements and deliver effective, reliable, and compliant solutions that drive key business decisions.

How You'll Spend Your Time

• You will design scalable and efficient data lakehouse architectures on AWS using Apache Iceberg and related services.
• You will build and automate ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest data from various sources into the AWS ecosystem.
• You will develop secure and scalable RESTful APIs for internal data access using AWS tools.
• You will utilize AWS services like S3, EMR, and Lake Formation for data processing, storage, and analytics.
• You will manage Apache Iceberg tables to support features like ACID transactions, schema evolution, and time travel.
• You will optimize data performance through partitioning, compaction, and query tuning techniques.
• You will ensure data quality, integrity, and security using validation processes and AWS access controls.
• You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and maintain documentation while providing technical support.

Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in a data-centric field (Computer Science, Economics, Information Systems, Data Analytics, etc.) and 7+ years’ experience with demonstrated track record of successful technical leadership in the execution of large-scale data projects or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Proven experience in successfully building, automating, and supporting solutions built in a large-scale data ecosystem in production environments on-premise, or in Azure/AWS cloud service.
• Proven experience in successfully building highly complex and scalable data pipelines.
