Senior Civil Design Engineer

Civil Engineering professional with 8+ years of accomplishment in designing Civil projects. This individual interfaces with client engineering representatives and other Valdes A&E's discipline engineers.  

Responsibilities

• Display an advanced knowledge within the Civil Engineering discipline
• Provide generally accepted practices with project management, design and quality control procedures
• Engage in design production to ensure complete, quality, and timely deliverables
• Verify field conditions, constructability of designs, and assist in resolving problems during field construction
• May be required to participate in short, or long term, field assignments
• Participate in the pursuit of new clients and project opportunities including client interactions, fee estimating and proposal writing
• Provide mentorship to less experienced engineers

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Civil Engineering
• 8+ years of experience working as a Civil Engineer
• Must hold Professional registrations (PE)
• Advanced knowledge of Civil Engineering
• Strong Microsoft Office software skills
• Strong AutoCAD / Civil 3D software skills. MicroStation experience is a plus
• Possess report writing skills to create civil evaluation and stormwater reports
• Intermediate understanding of other discipline workflow and how all departments work together to complete projects
• Must possess exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills
• Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future

Beneficial Experience

• Proven experience in highway and roadway design, including geometric layout and horizontal/vertical alignment
• Direct experience preparing plans, specifications, and estimates for transportation infrastructure projects
• Experience working on Department of Transportation (DOT) projects is strongly preferred
• Familiarity with DOT standards, manuals, and procedures, including documentation and submittal processes
