Position OverviewLegrand is seeking a Senior Buyer who is passionate about building strong supplier partnerships, ensuring reliable material flow, and contributing to high-performing operations within our Data Center Power and Control Division. This role offers the opportunity to influence sourcing strategy, solve meaningful challenges, and collaborate with teams across the organization.
What Will You Do
- Translate sourcing strategies into effective supplier allocation and ordering plans.
- Lead supplier communications, including forecasting, capacity planning, and performance reviews.
- Manage supplier scorecards and coordinate resolutions to delivery, quality, or performance concerns.
- Support productivity initiatives through cost analysis, process improvements, and value engineering.
- Build positive, solutions-focused relationships with suppliers and internal partners.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to supply continuity, material shortages, and quality issues.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and resolve supplier-related discrepancies.
- Drive execution of make-versus-buy evaluations using data-driven insights.
- Ensure accuracy and discipline in ERP/MRP processes and purchasing controls.
- Conduct supplier site visits and facilitate supplier business reviews.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required, a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
- 4–7 years of purchasing or supply chain experience.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Infor CloudSuite or SyteLine preferred).
- Knowledge of steel, copper, or electronics commodities a plus.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
- Willingness to travel 10–15%.
