About the role

The Global Demand Center is looking for a Marketing Operations Senior Business and Security Program Manager to join our Marketing Shadow Information Technology (IT)/Secure Future Initiative (SFI) team. This is part of the growing push across Microsoft to continue to invest in the multi-year mission to earn customer trust and reduce risk by protecting and securing Marketing-owned digital assets, systems and technologies. This role will drive the identification, assessment, mitigation and reporting to senior leadership on cyber risks/opportunities and organizational compliance across a broad set of initiatives – security and cloud governance, engineering compliance, accessibility, business resilience, etc.

As the Senior Business and Security Program Manager you will have a technical background in security and a desire to get in and roll up their sleeves to tackle complex security challenges, work on technical remediation, and work with owners directly to educate and train. This person thrives on bringing order to chaos, is a consummate team player and collaborator, and is hyper focused on the customer and business results. This person loves to understand the end-to-end (E2E) process and the technical details of how things work but is also able to step back and see the forest for the trees as well as the intersections with the business need. This role has a focus on cross-organizational collaboration and will need to balance different team needs and maturity levels while driving everyone toward common long-term objectives and compliance milestones. The candidate is expected to have direct experience with cloud security and accessibility concepts, a broad knowledge and deep comfort level with engineering tools/systems like Azure DevOps, proficient understanding of cloud technology (like Azure), and communication and influence skills (both verbal and written). This role will partner directly with our Engineering security counterparts to act as the central “hub” across Marketing and all its business teams to drive these critically important security initiatives, compliance, and improvements. This is a highly visible position with immense impact and growth potential as the Shadow IT/SFI program is a priority for leadership, is at the enterprise-wide level, and is continually evolving and growing.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

•  Act as one of the Marketing Shadow IT/SFI leads to drive understanding and accountability across the Marketing business teams - establishing the proper security posture, compliance and prioritization/management of risks.

• Directly support issue remediation with control owners to ensure risks are appropriately addressed.

• Scan and proactively identify Marketing platform security risks and work on solutions to mitigate.

• Directly engage in both tactical and strategic security activities supporting the Marketing team (e.g. planning, process, knowledge bases, etc.), across all levels of personnel and with both technical and less technical team members.

• Understand each business team’s scenarios and needs and find solutions that achieve both Shadow IT/SFI objectives goals and the business requirements.

• Manage the overall portfolio of programs including project plans, timelines, milestones, financial management, performance metrics, and resource needs for the programs.

• Partner with Microsoft Engineering to drive Security compliance and cloud hygiene, solve operational challenges for the Marketing organization and implement a programmatic approach that ensures continuous improvements for Marketing owned tools & systems.

• Lead, connect and drive cross-functional, global, and virtual project teams across a broad and varied set of security services, technology and partners, to drive impact/compliance in the Shadow IT/SFI program.

• Influence accelerated transformation through prevention, automation, and large-scale process changes.

• Contribute to a collaborative culture that embraces inclusivity and diversity.
