Cruise is looking for a Business Analyst for Strategy and Operations within Security and IT. You'll play a pivotal role in supporting the department's operational efficiency, strategic efforts, and activities. You will work with multidisciplinary teams analyzing data and providing valuable insights that drive the decision-making processes. Your expertise will be instrumental in optimizing workflows, revealing areas of opportunity for operational improvement, and aligning broader initiatives with overall department objectives.
What you’ll be doing:
Performance Analysis:
Collect and analyze data related to engineering operations, processes, and performance metrics. Develop reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to management. Identify key performance indicators to track and measure progress against goals.
Process Optimization:
Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for process improvement. Work closely with key players to develop and implement strategies to streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and reduce costs.
Financial Analysis:
Assist in budget planning, financial forecasting, and resource allocation for the department. Audit and analyze financial data, including project costs, resource utilization, and return on investment, to ensure optimal resource allocation and cost-effectiveness.
Operational Support:
Support the implementation of operational strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize efficiency and productivity.
Own business processes and workflows that enhance operational effectiveness.
Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and make recommendations for corrective actions.
Coordinate and collaborate with teams to ensure they’re on the path to meeting operational goals.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, finance, and operations, to understand business requirements and align engineering initiatives with broader organizational goals. Facilitate effective communication and knowledge sharing among partners.
Risk Assessment:
Identify risks, challenges, and opportunities associated with engineering projects and initiatives. Conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and provide recommendations to minimize potential negative impacts and enhance project success.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and standard operating practices in engineering and operations management. Find opportunities for innovation and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
What you must have:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
Proven experience as a business analyst, strategy consultant, or similar role, preferably within an engineering or technology-driven organization.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, organize, and interpret complex data sets.
Advanced knowledge of Jira, Looker, Salesforce, Confluence, and G-Suite
Proficiency in data analysis tools, such as Microsoft Excel, SQL, or data visualization software (e.g., Tableau).
Understanding of the OKR (Objective and Key Results) framework
Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
