Job Summary

The Senior Benefits Analyst is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day benefit administration of the company's benefit plans. This role is responsible for the day-to-day administration and communication of employee benefits (Health & Welfare, Retirement, and Leaves & Accommodations programs). Responsibilities include performing and/or assisting with administrative functions, such as processing employee benefits elections and enrollments, resolving employee benefits issues, maintaining and updating databases and related files, and performing billing and audit tasks.  The Senior Benefits Analyst role requires exceptional communication skills to ensure that team members and people leaders have a thorough understanding of the leave management process and procedures, health and welfare programs, costs, and eligibility requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities (other duties as assigned)

  • Administer company benefit programs ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and plan guidelines (programs include retirement plans, health insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, business travel, vacation, incentive, wellness, 401k, etc.)

  • Analyze benefits data to identify trends, prepare reports, and support strategic planning, including audits, compliance filings, and vendor communications. 

  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to improve benefit processes, support open enrollment, and maintain consistent communication and education around employee benefits. 

  • Assist in managing the full cycle process of accommodations, LOA, FMLA, STD, LTD. Prepare weekly Agenda and reporting for accommodations meetings.

  • Take the lead on assisting with medical accommodations and updates related to leave cases and employee return to work status.

  • Proactively lead discussions with HR/Managers/Employees to ensure all involved have appropriate information and status regarding each leave case; Assist in premium collections for employees in unpaid status (ex. Out on medical or personal leaves).

  • Collaborate and help with the annual Open Enrollment process

  • Facilitate new hire benefit orientation

  • Assist with benefit billing and invoicing tracking

  • Assist Team Members with benefit questions and resolve administrative issues with insurance companies.

  • Assists in the preparation and maintenance of Benefits Guides and other Benefits communication documents

  • Serve as the back-up for the 401 (k) weekly Funding

  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Education, Experience & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred but not required

  • 5+ years’ experience in benefits administration

  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and safeguard sensitive information 

  • Experience with Workday and Businessolver is a plus

  • Experience in the administration of various employee health benefit plans

  • Functional Skills

  • Experience in the administration of various employee health benefit plans

  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize requests, with strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

  • Working knowledge of State and Federal laws impacting benefit-related regulatory requirements, including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, DOL, IRS, and other applicable regulations.

  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, and strong Excel.
