The Opportunity
Ulteig is seeking a Senior Azure DevOps Engineer to play a pivotal role in advancing our enterprise-wide software delivery capabilities. This role is part of a collaborative team that combines Software Engineering and DevOps expertise to build and maintain scalable, secure, and efficient systems in Azure. You’ll help shape how we deliver software by driving automation, reliability, and consistency across our CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure. In addition to core DevOps responsibilities, you’ll work closely with the Software Engineering team to support the delivery of full-stack solutions that are robust, maintainable, and aligned with business objectives. This position offers the opportunity to be a thought leader, collaborating across engineering, infrastructure, security, and business teams to influence how we deliver software and contribute to the success of enterprise-wide strategic initiatives in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.
What You’ll Do
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure Azure DevOps pipelines for continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
- Collaborate closely with software engineering and infrastructure teams to establish DevOps best practices and serve as the subject matter expert representing the team in cross-functional engagements across the organization.
- Manage and optimize the Azure DevOps environment by overseeing build agents, repositories, service connections, and release workflows.
- Manage deployed Azure resources to ensure system reliability, scalability, availability, and security across development, staging, and production environments.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and pipeline configurations using Azure-native tools such as ARM templates, Bicep, and YAML-based pipeline definitions.
- Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot build and deployment issues, and proactively resolve bottlenecks.
- Ensure security, compliance, and governance are integrated into DevOps processes, including secrets management, identity management, and audit logging.
- Serve as an active and consistent participant in the information security governance process, including implementing and maintaining infrastructure-related SOC 2 compliance and controls.
- Analyze and monitor Azure resource usage and spending, providing insights and recommendations to optimize cost efficiency across environments.
- Maintain documentation for DevOps processes, infrastructure configurations, and operational procedures.
- Provide technical support and training to development teams on DevOps tools and practices.
- Stay current with emerging DevOps trends and Azure technologies to continuously improve team capabilities and system performance.
- Contribute to software engineering efforts by partnering with development teams to build and deliver full-stack solutions.
What We Expect from You
- 5+ years of experience designing and implementing Azure services at scale
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience coding in languages such as C#, TypeScript, Python, or equivalent
- Extensive experience with CI/CD automation, pipeline development, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), scripting tools such as PowerShell, and pipeline configurations using Azure-native tools such as ARM templates, Bicep, and YAML-based pipeline definitions
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (required)
- Practical knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability tools and practices
- Solid understanding of cloud security, identity management, and compliance frameworks
- Proven ability to work effectively across disciplines and build strong relationships with both technical and non-technical team members
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Familiarity with core infrastructure capabilities such as networking, compute, storage, or containerization
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing requirements
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and iterative development practices
- Skilled in navigating and resolving conflicts constructively to support team and project goals
