The Impact You Will Have in This Role
The Development family is responsible for creating, designing, deploying, and supporting applications and software solutions used across the firm. This includes research, new development, prototyping, enhancement, re-engineering, maintenance, and support of internally and externally facing software products on enterprise technology platforms. The software development process requires deep domain expertise in modern and emerging development methodologies, tools, and programming languages, as well as close collaboration with business partners and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver effective solutions.
As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, scalability, and security of enterprise applications. This role encompasses automation development and execution, functional testing, and non-functional testing, with a strong emphasis on embedding quality throughout the software delivery lifecycle. The SDET specializes in the design, development, execution, and maintenance of automated testing solutions that validate software functionality while accounting for performance, privacy, and security requirements.
You will work closely with development, product, and delivery teams to understand software requirements, develop robust automated test strategies, and integrate continuous testing into CI/CD pipelines. This role is well-suited for a hands-on technical professional who combines strong engineering skills with a quality-first mindset in a regulated, fast-paced environment.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
- Apply expertise in software development and testing methodologies, tools, and technologies across the delivery lifecycle
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain automated test solutions to support continuous testing
- Contribute to the design, enhancement, and maintenance of test automation frameworks
- Ensure end-to-end traceability from user stories through test cases and automated scripts
- Prepare, maintain, and execute test cases based on user stories; analyze results and manage defects through resolution
- Construct end-to-end business scenarios by applying a strong understanding of business objectives and outcomes
- Act as a technical subject matter expert for one or more applications used within the organization
- Identify, define, and manage environmental and test data requirements, including dependencies
- Collaborate with delivery pipeline teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
- Track test execution results; report risks, issues, and dependencies that may impact delivery timelines
- Research and evaluate technical solutions aligned with enterprise technology standards
- Align risk and control considerations into day-to-day responsibilities and escalate concerns appropriately
- Collaborate with internal and external teams on development, testing, troubleshooting, and quality improvement initiatives
