About the role

As an AI Software Engineer (m/f/d), you will be a key contributor to our AI and perception stack, bringing advanced computer vision and sensor processing capabilities onto real-world unmanned systems. At Quantum Systems, we build intelligent aerial, maritime and ground-based platforms that operate under real constraints - where performance, reliability, and seamless integration are critical.   Working closely with our ML team, as well as experts from flight testing, embedded software, you will take ownership of integrating and improving AI-driven functionalities across the full system. This is not a purely algorithmic role - you will bridge the gap between models and deployment, ensuring they run efficiently on embedded hardware and interact reliably with sensors, gimbals, and control systems.   In a fast-scaling, engineering-driven environment, you will play a key role in turning prototypes into robust, field-ready capabilities, contributing directly to our mission of transforming decision-making through autonomous, data-driven unmanned systems. What is your Day to Day Mission: Bring Computer Vision algorithms from concept and prototype into production-ready capabilities deployed on real-world unmanned systems. Integrate sensors, gimbals, and payloads into a robust and scalable software architecture. Design, implement and test advanced Computer Vision algorithms that run on embedded devices Work closely with ML engineers to integrate, validate, and improve perception capabilities in real-world environments. Improve system performance, reliability, and resource utilization on real hardware. Collaborate closely with Flight Testing, Ground Control, Embedded Software, and Product teams to bring new capabilities into the field. What you bring to the team: Strong professional experience developing software in modern C++. Experience deploying AI and Computer Vision models on NVIDIA Jetson or comparable embedded platforms (ARM, FPGAs, or custom SoCs). Hands-on experience designing, implementing and optimizing Computer Vision algorithms using both traditional and Deep Learning approaches. Experience integrating and adapting third-party software components into the existing architecture. Experience working with ROS2. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze, debug, and optimize software running on real hardware. Proven track record of bringing complex software features from prototype to production. You are passionate about solving complex technical challenges that push the current state-of-the-art. You are highly self-motivated and naturally drive and feel responsible for the topics you work on. You want to have real-life impact and work on AI that matters.
