Senior Accountant

We have a job opening and exciting opportunity for a full time Senior Accountant in our Tiffin, OH location. The primary role of a Senior Accountant is to support the general accounting processes and procedures. This includes preparing and recording asset, liability, revenue, expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.  

 Essential Functions:

• Responsible for journal entries, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Assists with general ledger and month-end close processes.
• Assist with audit compliance; external audits and prepare supporting detail necessary to perform annual audits.
• Investigates and resolves audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
• Leads internal reviews of distribution centers (DC) financials with the operations team.
• Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies.
• Prepares accrual based on actual operational data, such as commissions, product incentive, rebates, and payroll.
• Posts payroll entries.
• Manages fixed assets in the Sage software.
• Review accounts payable postings for coding errors.
• Identifies gaps in internal controls and make recommendations related to accounting policy.
• Responsible for sales tax reconciliation and compliance.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Need to be Successful: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 5 - 7 years of Accounting or Business experience or similar field.
• Experience with multi-state sales tax preferred.
• Excellent organization, analytical, and communication skills
• Has a continuous improvement mindset.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge of Excel.
• Ability to multi-task and work within specified timeframes.
• Ability to work in a fast paced and self-directed environment.
• Willingness to contribute new ideas and feedback related to potential areas for improvements.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Successfully pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check and drug screening.

 

Work Location:

• This role is located in Tiffin, OH.
• This role is on a Hybrid model with 2-3 days per week in the office and the remaining days working remote.
