About the role

Description

 We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an Entry- to Mid-Level Accountant to support their Controller in day-to-day financial operations. This position will assist with basic accounting tasks, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll support, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Core Responsibilities

General Accounting Support

• Assist with daily accounting transactions and data entry into the general ledger.

• Prepare and post journal entries under the guidance of the Controller.

• Support the month-end close process through account reconciliations and reporting assistance.

• Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records.

Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Process incoming vendor invoices and employee expense reports.

• Assist with customer billing and apply customer payments accurately.

• Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up as needed.

Payroll & Benefits Assistance

• Prepare payroll data and assist in payroll processing and reporting.

• Help maintain employee payroll and benefits records.

• Support compliance with payroll-related policies and procedures.

Inventory & Cost Tracking

• Assist with bi-annual inventory counts and related documentation.

• Enter and track job-related costs and expenses.

• Help maintain pricing and costing spreadsheets with updated data.

Banking & Cash Management

• Perform basic bank reconciliations and assist with cash flow tracking.

• Support preparation for ACH payments and wire transfers.

Reporting & Systems Support

• Help generate financial reports and summaries for internal use.

• Assist with financial system entries and basic troubleshooting.

• Work with other departments to ensure accurate financial data input.

Compliance & Documentation

• Help organize and prepare documentation for audits and tax filings.

• Support the maintenance of insurance certificates and vendor compliance records.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with accounting software (training available).



Requirements

 

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• 1–3 years of accounting experience (internship experience counts!).

• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and general ledger systems.

• Experience in a construction, engineering, or manufacturing environment is a plus but not required.
