Bierman ABA is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team! We are a multi-state organization in high-growth mode and expanding our finance teams. As a Senior Accountant, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining efficient financial operations that align with regulatory standards and support our business objectives. Reporting directly to our finance department's leadership, you will be responsible for preparing financial statements, managing a comprehensive range of accounting tasks, and ensuring the integrity of our financial data. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
- Responsible for the general ledger, expense reporting, month-end, and state/federal taxes. Experience with billing revenue recognition is a plus.
- Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
- Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
- Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
- Produces payroll by initiating computer processing; printing checks, verifying finished product.
- Completes external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors.
- Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements.
- Secures financial information by completing database backups.
- Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
Requirements
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 5-10 years of experience in accounting/finance
- CPA preferred
- Experience in working with multiple locations/states
- Experience with financial reporting requirements
Basic & Physical Requirements:
- Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions
- Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication though computer, electronic devices, and paper means.
- Must be able to maintain prolonged periods of working on a computer while sitting at a desk and attending virtual meetings
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
