Job Description
The Seed Packaging Quality Intern will be instrumental to our improvments in packaging our Yield Trial seeds. This role will collect data, analyze processes, and make recommendations to our workflows for peak efficiencies.
Accountabilities
- Data collection in Soybean packaging for metric development
- Observe and collect data in key areas of the facility that are currently missing data.
- Development of an efficient method for collecting data on live product from the machines
- Utilize the data collected to optimize the work areas
- Investigate production problems as they arise to help develop the solutions
- Training document reviews for effectiveness

- Must be detail oriented, and drive attention to accuracy
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Current student studying industrial engineering or manufacturing engineering or related field
- Must be a current student continuing education upon completion of internship term
Knowledge, experience & capabilities
- Experience working with cross-functional interdisciplinary teams
- A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driver’s history
- Basic knowledge of statistics and lean manufacturing processes
Critical knowledge
- Familiarity with MS Office, especially Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint and other standard software
- Ability to learn and utilize proprietary IT systems
- Experience with Power BI and/or SmartSheets is a plus
Critical experience
- Competence with standard seed processing equipment (shellers, threshers, color sorters, treaters, etc.)
- Knowledge of best practices in warehouse/manufacturing environments
- Ability to obtain forklift certification
- History of implementation of continuous improvements and new innovations
Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities
- Ability and motivation to learn new technologies

- Excellent organizational skills
