Summary:

This position is assigned to Baystate Health in Springfield, Greenfield, Palmer, and Westfield. As the only level-one Trauma Center in Western Mass, we deal with numerous victims of violence both in the Emergency Department and inpatient units. We also see many behavioral health and dual-diagnosis patients in our facilities. Under the direction of the Security Manager, acts to protect employees, patients, and visitors by directing officers assigned to his/her shift. The Security Supervisor is responsible for responding to calls for assistance and preventing unauthorized entry by unauthorized individuals. In addition, they will be responsible for maintaining a schedule for the officers assigned to their shift and ensuring they adhere to departmental and medical Center policies and procedures. The Security Supervisor has the primary responsibility for training new officers for competency. They also provide training and oversight for the Security Lead program. The Security Supervisor has the responsibility to investigate incidents and ensure reports are filed in a timely manner and, where appropriate, involve the Security Investigator and Security Manager. The Security Supervisor is the primary liaison with outside Law Enforcement agencies.
