Job Description
Overview:
Security Supervisor supervises a team of security officers that ensure the physical safety of all visitors, employees, or customers of an organization's facilities and the security of property and assets. The Security Supervisor conducts audits and inspections of buildings and grounds to ensure protection from intruders, fire hazards, theft, and vandalism. Follows protocols for the monitoring of systems and alarms, and procedures for response to issues. Additionally, Security Supervisor ensures that all security events are logged, documented, and reported using standard procedures. Trains staff and establishes plans for crisis response, disaster recovery, evacuation, workplace violence, and other emergency events. Participates in education programs and communications on security policies and topics to ensure staff is adequately informed and equipped to manage potential security issues. Keeps abreast with all local, state, provincial, or federal security-related information, directives, and events. Assists with investigations and critical event responses in coordination with law enforcement and other officials or agencies. Understands law enforcement methods, tactics, and procedures. Requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Typically reports to a Safety or Security Manager. Makes day-to-day decisions within the Safety and Security department. Has some authority for personnel actions to be a Security Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years’ experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of the functional area and department processes.
Here's what you'll do:
- Coordinate with Wonderful Citrus Management, employees, and 3rd parties to identify and establish operational procedures and processes as necessary to fulfill the requirements of the program.
- Develop and implement training programs to ensure staff is prepared to meet Wonderful Citrus expectations and fulfill the obligations
- Develop and implement escalation procedures and practices to support the security incident management process
- Contribute as a participant in Wonderful Citrus’ security incident management process
- Provide consulting, coordination, and security resource implementation as necessary for Wonderful Citrus special event security requirements and security processes as they relate to Delano based activities.
- Provide oversight and individual contribution to ensure the Safety Team accommodates Wonderful Citrus’ small to moderate investigation needs as assigned. These needs are predominantly documentation efforts.
- Maintain security incident report documentation; provide analysis and recommendation relating to mitigation of security issues according to trends or significant security incidents.
- Contribute to the physical security program including coordinating security system activities on an as-needed or as-assigned basis
- Establish and maintain an appropriate liaison with local law enforcement to the benefit of the Wonderful Citrus security program
- Coordinate training for Wonderful Citrus staff and complete all mandatory Wonderful Citrus training including, but not limited to: EHS or other training that may be required by government regulation or customary in the industry.
Qualifications
Here's what you'll bring to the table:
- Bachelor’s degree from 4-year university in Business, Management, or related field and 5-7 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in computer usage, email, MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
- Understanding of packinghouse/warehouse processes and operations
- Well-developed observational and analytical skills
- Effective verbal and written communications skills
- Able to work flexible schedules/shifts as needed for 7-day operation
- Proven skills for planning daily/weekly tasks and adapting to competing demands
- Strong skills developing relationships across all levels and functions
- Knowledgeable in the application of OSHA/CALOSHA and EPA regulations
