Team

Verily is building a new Security Detection and Response team. This role will be a hands-on role with experience in cloud and corporate infrastructure. This position will work closely with cloud, platform and infrastructure engineering teams to enable and maintain a high assurance bar for Verily products. Including: hardening our core cloud infrastructure, identifying and resolving unknown threats and underestimated risks to production, monitoring privileged user activity, providing identity and access management services, or preventing malware across various platforms.

Role

• Contribute to building security tools and infrastructure to analyze, deploy, and manage security controls across verily products.
• Discover and quantify unknown threats and risks to Verily’s production infrastructure.
• Triage, prioritize, and facilitate cross-functional responses to imminent and active threats. Build solutions or harden existing controls to prevent or mitigate risks. Signals collection, processing, and classification.
• Work cross functionally with Security Engineers, Software teams and our Foundation Engineering teams to prioritize software development efforts in support of scalable management of security controls for Verily’s operating environments.

Requirements

• 2+ years experience programming in one or more of the following languages: Go, Rust, Python.
• 5+ years experience in information security, software design, tools development.
• 3+ years experience with cloud infrastructure and services, including common security challenges and/or solutions related to cloud infrastructure and services (GCP, AWS).
• Experience developing security tools, automation or frameworks.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $125,000 -192,000 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Base salary will be reviewed and updated to the new local market. We will maintain the Veep’s current market position in the new local market for fairness and consistency.
