This is a supervisory position with direct reports. Comprehensive advanced level position with proven abilities in all posts. Coordinates and oversees the work activities during shift. Schedules and leads work of assigned security officers in maintaining security and safety of people and property at Wells Enterprises. Provides reports and communicates with Security Manager. This position requires little supervision and works very independently to achieve goals. Perform duties similar to the Security Officer classification but are distinguished by the lead responsibilities.
- Responsible for the reliable operation and administration of the security post at Wells Enterprises, Inc. on assigned shift and oversight of all guard duties.
- Provide Commend Center coverage. Must have proficient knowledge of emergency plans and take action as required. Ensure through proper training, direct reports are capable of handling emergency situations.
- Supervise direct reports, duties may include, planning, scheduling, organizing, and directing work. Includes training and development of direct reports, and the support of employee relations.
- Answer alarms and investigate disturbances and call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence, medical assistance or unauthorized persons.
- Oversight of drills for Security department.
- Oversight and assist guards with training and SOP's, post orders as needed.
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized person, or unusual occurrences. Perform investigative and follow up to all irregularities.
- Patrol industrial and office premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
In addition to the responsibilities listed above, other duties may be assigned by your supervisor, as dictated by business necessity.
- Associate's degree in criminal justice, Business or other related fields of study or work-related field.
- 5-7 years' experience. Computer experience preferred. Military or Police Science beneficial.
- Strong verbal and communication skills required.
- Skills in utilizing building security and lock systems and procedures.
- Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel as well as understand and follow safety procedures.
- Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns, gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
