Scion is paving a path in student living and we are seeking a Security Program Manager to join us in executing our vision.

The Security Program Manager is responsible for the administration, implementation, and continuous improvement of security programs across Scion's national portfolio. Working under the strategic direction of the Corporate Director, Community Security, this position serves as the primary coordinator for enterprise security initiatives, operational compliance, vendor performance, incident tracking, program analytics, training administration, and security technology deployment.

This role transforms strategy into action by ensuring security programs are consistently executed, measured, documented, and improved across all communities. The Security Program Manager serves as an integrator of the Community Security Department and a trusted resource to property teams nationwide.

This position is office-based in Chicago.

Essential Responsibilities

Security Program Administration

  • Manage day-to-day administration of enterprise security programs and initiatives.
  • Integrate new security standards, policies, and procedures across the portfolio.
  • Maintain department documentation, program records, and compliance tracking systems.
  • Monitor program effectiveness and recommend operational improvements.

Incident Review & Case Management

  • Conduct preliminary reviews of incident reports and identify trends requiring attention.
  • Coordinate follow-up actions and corrective measures with property teams.
  • Develop incident summaries, executive dashboards, and trend analyses.
  • Support after-action reviews and lessons-learned processes following major incidents.

Vendor & Contract Management

  • Monitor vendor performance, service delivery, and compliance with contract requirements.
  • Track service levels, incident reporting quality, and operational expectations.
  • Coordinate vendor onboarding, training requirements, and performance evaluations.

Security Technology Management

  • Serve as department lead for security technology implementation and maintenance coordination.
  • Track deployment and effectiveness of surveillance systems, access control technologies, AI monitoring solutions, and security software platforms.
  • Coordinate technology pilots and enterprise rollouts.
  • Support evaluation of emerging technologies that improve resident safety and operational efficiency.

Training & Program Development

  • Develop operational guides, toolkits, and educational materials for property teams.
  • Support onboarding of new General Managers regarding security programs and expectations.
  • Assist with resident safety campaigns and awareness initiatives.

Data Analytics & Reporting

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret security-related data across the portfolio.
  • Develop quarterly security performance reports.
  • Track crime trends, incident metrics, program utilization, and operational performance indicators.
  • Maintain dashboards and visual reporting tools.
  • Provide actionable recommendations based on data analysis.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Property Operations, Facilities, Risk Management, Human Resources, and Legal teams to support security initiatives.
  • Provide operational support to Regional Managers and General Managers.
  • Serve as a resource for security-related questions and program implementation.
  • Support enterprise projects involving resident safety, crisis preparedness, and operational risk reduction.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Emergency Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in corporate security, law enforcement, emergency management, risk management, or program administration.
  • Experience managing multi-site programs, projects, or operations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
