As a Security Professional - Access Control in Sparrows Point, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial and more .
As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a dynamic manufacturing and industrial location, you will play a key role in helping to maintain a secure environment for employees, visitors, and property. Your responsibilities will include monitoring entry and exit points, verifying credentials, and conducting routine patrols throughout the facility. By remaining visible and approachable, you will help to deter security-related incidents while providing outstanding customer service and clear communication to everyone on site. - Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
- Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
- Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
- Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
- Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Monitor and control access to the location, verifying credentials and authorizations for entry and exit.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
- Observe and report any unusual or suspicious activity, hazards, or maintenance issues within the manufacturing and industrial environment.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and/or irregularities as required by site procedures.
- Collaborate with site personnel and Allied Universal management to address security-related concerns and support a secure environment.

Minimum Requirements:
- At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
