Southern Glazer’s offers a competitive compensation package with an hourly pay rate of $17.50 hour. In determining a final offer, the company will evaluate a specific candidate's education, skills and experience and will make an offer appropriately.

Overview
The Security Officer (SO) will support and execute the corporate security strategy at the direction of the Director of Corporate Security. The SO will be responsible for policing the buildings and grounds of SGWS facilities to prevent theft, fire, vandalism and illegal entry. The SO will also be responsible for utilizing screening technology required for entry to SGWS facilities. The SO will assist to ensure all safety and security protocols are adhered to at SGWS properties. The SO will be responsible for initiating action to manage unwanted visitors or employees that are no longer desired on the premises. Generally, the SO will be posted at a guard station, but will be asked to patrol the property and monitor security technology in a Security Operations Center.
Primary Responsibilities
- Start shift promptly at designated time, in proper security attire.
- Appearance will be clean, smart and professional at all times.
- Occupy a guard station/desk as directed by the Director of Corporate Security or designee.
- Patrol property, inside and out.
- Provide overall awareness of any security or safety concerns to Corporate Security Team.
- Respond to crisis’ and high duress events to mitigate, aid, and assist Corporate Security Team.
- Diffuse and deescalate potentially violent situations on property.
- Report any safety or security situations to the Corporate Security Team.
- Provide written reports, complete logs and maintain data related to safety and security.
- Monitor security surveillance equipment provided by SGWS.
- Escort contractors or visitors when appropriate.
- Sound alarms and notify local municipalities as appropriate for safety and security situations.
- Perform other duties as assigned related to safety and security.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency plus 1 year of experience
Physical Demands
- Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine
- Physical demands include a considerable amount of time walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping
- Additional hours may be required during October, November, and December and other peak periods
- May require working at heights of 8 feet or greater
- Must be able to frequently lift/lower, push, carry, or pull 56lbs
